Located in Stockholm, Riksidrottsmuseum is Sweden’s national museum of sports. As a commissioned project during Swedish artist Elisabeth Westerlund’s solo exhibition “No Pain, No Gain, I was asked to create a lecture that presented the visual world of sports, as presented throughout the history of Western perfumery.

Entitled “Salt, Sweat and Water”, the lecture explored the role of sports and the human body as presented in perfumery marketing and surrounding visual culture. Alongside a walkthrough of the history of sports in the perfumery industry, a series of perfumes emblematic of the genre were showcased to the attending audience.
